Abstract: The economic policy of fascism prevailed in the thirties the compulsory wheat-storage. Farmers had to hand over all the grain harvested and a first consequence of this measure was the construction of warehouses and silos where to store the goods delivered. The silos of Rome designed by the architect Tullio Passarelli was inaugurated in 1936 and rimasse active until the fifties. Now the building continues to play a role within the gastronomy and “culture of the kitchen”.
