Abstract: Air, water and places sanitation and public health in Rome in the writings of Giovanni Maria Lancisi     The work by G.M. Lancisi De noxiis paludum effluviis (1707) with other works by the same author, allows a reconstruction of the public health reforms proposed in the first decades of the XVIII century in Rome. Lancisi's texts show their author’s attempt at mediating between the Hippocratic tradition and Early Modern chemical and biological knowledge.
