Abstract: THE ROME FEDERATION OF THE NATIONAL FASCIST PARTY The Urbe Federation, that included the Fascist Parties of both Rome and the province, always had an important role in Fascist ritual. Roman Fascism was in many ways a showcase for the regime’s accomplishments. The Federation, divided into eight zones, coordinated the activities of the numerous organization – Guf, Gil, Woman’s Fascist Organizations and also the District Fascist Groups, further divided in Settori and Nuclei. Although subject to severe control by the secretariat of the National Fascist Party, the Roman Federation was a strong presence, that grew numerically as well during the war, to face up to propaganda and welfare tasks executed by the District Fascist Groups and the party apparatus. It was above all the provincial party in the capital in several areas such as welfare, food rationing and the control of dissent. During 1942, the commemoration of those fallen in battle was added to the propaganda and welfare activities of the individual District Fascist Groups. In 1943 the members of the Fascist action squads gained of an organization that was then greatly weakened by the prolonged war, the deterioration of the economic situation and allied bombings.
