Abstract: GIOVAN MARIO CRESCIMBENI AND HIS “LIBRARIA”: AN ACADEMY IN A LIBRARY Giovammo Mario Crescimbeni’s library, sold after his death as set down in his will, was composed of a mere 377 titles. The homogeneity and coherence of the cultural project that animated the entire collection indicates a sector that includes not only most of the official production of the Accademia d’Arcadia, but also volumes and texts that were functional role and it provides a narrow cultural picture in comparison to the great changes that had already started in Rome.
