Abstract:  CITY PLANNING METHODS AND FRAMEWORK KNOWLEDGE: PREPARATORY STEPS FOR THE RECLAMATION PROJECTS THE OSTIENSE NEIGHBORHOOD CASE STUDY The renovation of Rome’s most important industrial archeological compounds begins after 1987, among others these are: the Fluvial Harbor’s General Wholesale Marketplace; the Pantanella plant on Via Casilina; the Peroni factory in Piazza Alessandria. Such interventions are completed with different architectonic restoration methodologies due to the differing, and at times contrasting, norms of the urban development plan. The importance of the historical research, founded on the preliminary documentation of the reclamation operations, represents an unmistakable specification which allows us to compare and contrast the quality of the interventions occurred. An historically-documented research pattern is introduced for the Farmers’ Union Federation marketplace complex at Ostiense, to be renovated shortly.
