Abstract: Through archival repositories, documents and unpublished notes, takes shape the kilns territory in the north Rome quadrant, that is Trionfale, the lower part of Balduina and the former Valle dell’Inferno (then Valle Aurelia). This essay focuses on the villini in Prati di Castello, the so called “little Switzerland” in Monte Mario-Camilluccia, the new kilns center outside Porta Angelica. Last but not least, the essay explores the “dispersed growth” of the suburbs and the conquest of the surplus value by the Società Generale Immobiliare and the Vatican finances.
