Abstract: The article debates the question of the industrialization in Rome during the fascist regime. The first part intends to illustrate the initiatives of industrial development in Rome, in the first two decades of the Twentieth Century. The research then takes into account the state of the industrial activities and the public policies implemented by the regime during the Twenties. Thereafter I focus on the increase of the industrial activities in Rome during the Thirties, as a consequence of the autarkical measures. The last part is dedicated to the institution of the second industrial area of Rome in the 1941, as a peak of the fascist industrial policy in the city.
